Sometimes you might be confused DIN, BS, ***N, actually this is only a code when the EN1004 is applied in different countries.
EN1004 or BS EN1004 is the European product standard for mobile access towers (scaffold towers). Towers that conform to this standard must meet minimum safety requirements.
Why is it important to choose an EN1004 tower?
Falls from height and slips, trips or falls on the same level are associated with more fatal and major injuries to workers than any other injury kind. A huge number of factors are involved in reducing these statistics but working on equipment that meets the EN1004 requirements means that you know you are working on equipment that meets minimum safety requirements.
What are the differences between a non-EN1004 tower and an EN1004 tower?
Not EN1004 | EN1004 |
Often made from painted or galvanized steel and sometimes referred to as “Domestic” or H frame tower | It will be marked with an EN1004 label |

Do not have built-in access to ensure safe ascent and descent | Have built-in access for safe ascent and descent |
Not supplied with the required stabilizers to prevent overturning | Supplied with the correct size and quantity of stabilizers to prevent overturning |
